The Cutimed Sorbact Swabs are DACC-coated, hydrophobic, antimicrobial wound contact layers that are designed to bind bacteria under moist wound conditions. The swabs are bacteria binding, and can be used on all types of contaminated, colonised or infected wounds with low to moderate exudate levels. They can be applied straight to the wound bed, folded or unfolded, and fixed with a secondary dressing.

Using a unique antimicrobial concept that works without a chemically active agent, Cutimed Sorbact’s effectiveness is based on the powerful physical principle of hydrophobic interaction to cleanse colonized, contaminated and infected wounds.

The Cutimed Sorbact Swabs do not contain any antiseptic or antibiotic substances, hence treatment is not linked to any risk of development of resistant strains. The swabs are also not linked to contraindications and side effects that are associated with the use of other antimicrobial dressings.

The Cutimed Sorbact Swabs are ideal for deep cavity wounds and exudate management of low to highly exuding wounds. It is effective against all wound pathogens including MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staph. aureus) and VRE (vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus), and may be combined with secondary dressings or pads for additional exudate absorption, or with any of the other Cutimed Sorbact family of products for optimal healing.

 The recommended dressing change interval for the Cutimed Sorbact Swabs is 1–3 days depending on the wound condition.

The Cutimed Sorbact Swabs come in a box of 5. They are 4cm x 6cm when folded, and 11cm x 16cm when unfolded.
