Who should get a COVID-19 vaccination once a year?

How long do I need to wait before getting vaccinated?
The HSE advise that if you have been vaccinated before, you should wait at least three months after your last COVID-19 vaccination or your last COVID-19 infection before getting vaccinated. Visit HSE.ie or call the HSE team in HSE Live on 1800 700 700 for further information.
How can I check when I last got a COVID-19 vaccination?
If you are aged 16 years or over, you can find health information including your COVID-19 and flu vaccine records the new HSE Health App.
What if you’ve never had a COVID-19 vaccination?
The first round of vaccination is for people who haven’t had a COVID-19 vaccination. To get your first round of COVID-19 vaccination in the pharmacy, you must be aged 12 years or older.
If you have never had a COVID-19 vaccination and you are in a HSE risk group, then it’s recommended to get a COVID-19 vaccination. If you have never had a COVID-19 vaccination and you are not in a risk group and aged 18 or over, you can get a vaccination if you choose to get one, following discussion of your reasons with your pharmacist or doctor. Visit https://www2.hse.ie/screening-and-vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/ for further information. Most people in a recommended group for vaccination now only need one dose for their first round of vaccination. If you have a weakened immune system, see the information below.
Weakened immune system
If you have a weakened immune system at the time of your first round of COVID-19 vaccination, two doses are recommended, with the second dose given four weeks after the first dose. As the vaccination may be less effective for you than other people, an additional dose to give you better protection might be recommended to you by your specialist. Visit HSE.ie for further information.

COVID-19 vaccination while pregnant
The HSE guidance currently recommend a COVID-19 vaccination once during your pregnancy if you have a weakened immune system or health condition associated with an increased risk of complications from COVID-19 infection. If you are pregnant and not in a risk group but want a COVID-19 vaccination, you may choose to get a COVID-19 vaccination following a discussion of your reasons with your pharmacist or doctor. If you are pregnant, you should wait six months since your previous COVID-19 vaccination or infection before being vaccinated. The best time to get the vaccination dose is between 20 and 34 weeks, but you can get it at any stage of pregnancy.
